Integration Management Templates

Project Integration Management is defined by the Project Management Institute as:

Project integration management includes the processes and activities to identify, define, combine, unify, and coordinate the various processes and project management activities within the project management process groups. In the project management context, integration includes characteristics of unification, consolidation, communication, and integrative actions that are crucial to controlled project execution through completion, successfully managing stakeholder expectations, and meeting requirements.
Project integration management includes making choices about ressource allocation, making trade-offs among competing objectives and alternatives, and managing the interdependencies among the project management knowledge areas. The project management processes are usually presented as discrete processes with defined interfaces while, in practice, they overlap and interact in ways that cannot be completely detailed in the PMBOK Guide® Guide. (PMBOK Guide® – Fifth Edition)

The Processes of Project Integration Management are:

  • Develop project charter,
  • Develop project management plan,
  • Direct and manage project work,
  • Monitor and control project work,
  • Perform integrated change control,
  • Close project or phase.

A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Fifth Edition

A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Fifth Edition provides guidelines for managing individual projects and defines project management related concepts. It further describes the project management life cycle and its related processes, as well as the project life cycle.

I firmly believe that A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) – Fifth Edition is a must-have for professional project managers.
It is not an easy to read and understand book, but a high-level reference book on project management, its processes, tools and techniques. (Marc Arnecke, PMP)

Marc Arnecke, PMP
The project management plan is the document that describes how the project shall be accomplished. The project management plan is created by the project manager at the beginning of the project during the project initiating phase and is developed further during the project planning phase. Later changes and updates are possible in compliance with the applicable procedures.
The project management plan includes the project charter, the project definition, the project objectives, the budget, the project schedule, the resources needed to accomplish the project, the management approach, further management plans, and the initial risk assessment.
